Cover Design
Book Cover Design is not just about knowing how to design a nice looking cover. A book cover needs to say it all in one quick, really quick look. The title and image need to be seen as of one mind. Their message needs to be compelling. Your reader needs to feel motivated and moved to buy your book because of these qualities.
Book Cover Designers are a special breed, not just any designer will do. A Book Cover Designer knows the magic, the balance and the right combination of elements that make a cover sell. And each Book Designer has their own special feel and form they apply to the books they design. The same can be said about designing the interior of the book, which necessitates a keen understanding and execution of flow and what is readable. It's not only a mathematical equation of font/size/space/margins/format ... it's a love for and of the read.
The ability to create a dynamic book cover design, title dynamic and inteior typesetting is not only about book design experience but a combination of book design, marketing, advertising, branding experiences and the ability to be in relatedness to what works to capture your target audience's attention and action to buy.
We have inhouse professional designers who created many book cover designs, book interiors, branded series looks, title logo's, and marketing materials. Together we can create the image that will work best for catching your audience's attention— getting noticed! Contact us to begin your self-publishing and graphic design project today.
Important things to consider for your book cover design:
- Enhance the credibility of your book: Does the cover design make a person want to pick up the book and buy it? Will booksellers be proud to display it in stores?
- Incorporate the book's theme: Does the book cover design effectively convey the authors' "voice" and style? Will it appeal to the authors' target audience?
- Be creative: Is the book cover design a different and unique expression? Is it tasteful?
- Continues to express: Throughout the book interior formatting a feeling of know, like and trust with the author and subject. Is it written with benefits in mind?
- Offer a book interior formated with a feeling of comfort by way of typeface, line spacing, margins and photo placement that enhance the over all reading experience. Will the reader want more?
- When considering what sells your book, pay attention to the book cover design and interior formatting. Remember, the back cover copy as well as the subject of your manuscript are equally as important as the cover design. They are the cake to the design quality being the icing.
As part of cover we give the following:

Formating
Do you need to get your material typed up, but can’t face doing the job yourself? We can help with this and can provide a clean typed version of your work.
Our service offers help for writers who have an old or handwritten manuscript, or audio tapes, which need re-typing before the writer can proceed with submission or publication.
Our expert typist will work from a handwritten version, a typescript or audio tapes. As part of the package we email the work back to you and can also provide you with a disk and hard copy of your manuscript for a small extra charge once the job is done.
What you’ll end up with is your work in pristine form to publish. You will be amazed to see how much better your work will look once it has been clean-typed.
Because of the difficulty of assessing how long the work will take, you will need to send your manuscript or tapes before we can quote for the job. Contact us to get instructions for where to send your work. When you send it, please enclose return postage, preferably in the form of a large, stamped and self-addressed jiffy bag, so that we can make sure your material is safely returned to you.
Once we have looked at it, we will email your quote to you and you can then decide whether or not you want to go ahead. If you don't want to use our typing service, your material will be sent back to you.
Our typing service does not usually include any editorial input, which we recommend you should think of as a separate job requiring editorial expertise. We can however quote for correcting spelling and punctuation during the re-typing, which will be more time-consuming and therefore more expensive. Please make it clear what you require.
- Formatting-layout of book interior: Formatting done in Microsoft Word. This includes a copyright page, dedication page, one abbreviated title page, one full title page with logo, acknowledgments page, chapters, running headers and page numbers, “About the Author” and/or “Other Books By” page. Upper case for first line formatting style or drop caps, clip art, small photo on full title page if desired.
- Your input: You can choose your font preference if there is one. Or we will choose one that is widely used in the book publishing industry and reader friendly for both PDFs and print books.
- Types of files you receive: PDF file and Word Document. You will get a high quality PDF and a formatted Word document.
- Editing: We will correct up to 5 typographical or spelling errors if we happen to see them while formatting.(Thorough editing can be requested for a separate fee.)
E-Book Conversion
Authors are typically too busy writing and publishing books to become proficient in eBook creation and optimization. With so many formats and devices available, knowing what to do and how to do it becomes just that much harder. At AuthorsInn, we specialize in handling the eBook creation and design process for you, so that you can focus on what you do best.
There is an incosistency between the files we get from clients. Some publishers use InDesign, some use Coral Draw, and some use other programs. Authors typically use a word processing program like Microsoft Word. The variation in file types and quality, even from one publisher or author, can be extensive. In addition to that, the complexity of a book can have a substantial impact on the difficulty of converting it into foundational XHTML and designing it in the eBook formats.
Our content conversion and eBook design processes take all of these issues into account. We accept Word and PDF files since those are the most common source files our clients have available and convert them to Mobipocket/Kindle and ePub formats as they are the eBook formats used in most of the eBook devices and software applications on the market.
Proof Reading
Any writing that contains spelling errors, poor punctuation and awkward sentence structure confines the smooth flow of reading, and mistakes in spelling, grammar and punctuation immediately stamp a writer as careless and ignorant. In today's world, having your online content checked by professional proofreading services can earn you more credibility.
AuthorsInn provides copyediting and proofreading services at a low cost. In addition to our copyediting and proofreading services, we will review your writings and rewrite, when necessary, to ensure clarity and efficiency.
